Last April STOP 22 received its 501(c)(3) designation. Since then, STOP 22 has raised over $37,000 to provide tution assistance to veterans, and additional funds to assist with pro bono legal services for veterans.
This past Thursday, February 26th, STOP 22 held its first expungement clinic for veterans (see post below), marking STOP 22's engagement into its second prong to reduce veteran suicide by building a sense of community. Featured is STOP 22's FIRST recipient of pro bono legal services, T.B. ! Over 25 years aogo, T.B. successfully completed probation for a theft related conviction, and been a contributing member of our community working in construction ever since. T.B. says STOP 22's help with his expungement is lifting a weight that has clouded him for years (cost covered by Veterans United Foundation).
Thanks to all who support STOP 22 and its mission to reduce veteran suicide. While, STOP 22 takes a non-traditional route to reduce veteran suicide, each avenue is backed by research.
