One of STOP 22's core goals is to provide legal access to veterans either directly or through our referral attorney network. Likewise, Military Matters uses proceeds raised through the VeteRun support free and reduced legal services for veterans and active-duty service members throughout the Kansas City area.

About the Christian Lee Honea Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser, Comedy Show and Silent Auction
In 2023, to honor Eric's son, Christian Lee Honea, a Marine who fell to suicide following his return from overseas duty in 2018, and with the help of four amazing Kansas City based attorneys, Eric established the Christian Lee Honea Memorial Scholarship Endowment to help veterans with the cost of tuition entering law school at the UMKC School of Law. Since that time, Eric founded STOP 22 with the mission of reducing veteran suicide in a non-traditional ways.
One of those ways is providing veterans, their spouses, and their children with undergraduate and vocational scholarships in order to build a foundation of support for veterans suffering from PTS, anxiety, depression, loneliness, and who, maybe even unknownly, are in search of the community once experienced in their service to our Country.
Join STOP 22 on Friday, November 13, 2026 at the Historic Longview Mansion to celebrate the veterans assisted this past year and to raise money to support even more veterans and their families in the year ahead.

Riley Fahrenholz is a JD candidate at the University of Missouri School of Law
I'm from Kansas City, MO and spent most of my childhood here. Although, I was born in Lincoln, NE. My mother, Karie Fahrenholz is an attorney in New Orleans. My twin sister is a dentist, and she lives in San Diego, CA. I served four years in the United States Navy as an aviation electronics technician. The scholarship is helping me tremendously with law school. It's giving me an opportunity to save money on loans and afford housing while I'm in school. The scholarship is also providing money for books and supplies. I am very grateful for the scholarship!
